We`ll Get An iPhone 8, Not An `iPhone X` According To Retail Case Packaging From Trusted Source

2017 09/12

We`ve got less than a week until Apple launches the iPhone 8. This year`s iPhone will be very, very different from its predecessors. The biggest indicator of this fact is chatter on the rumor mill. Previously, things were quite straightforward. The iPhone 7/7 Plus weren`t going to feature an earphone jack. The iPhone 6s/6s Plus will get Force Touch. Now, we`re not even sure what Apple will call its flagship smartphone, despite a plethora of feature/specification leaks that occur on a daily basis. Today, looks like a case maker will help us more in this regard. Take a look below for more details.

The OLED iPhone To Be Dubbed As `iPhone 8` Suggest Retail Case Packaging

Will Apple kill the S lineup of iPhone this year? Cupertino`s been backed into a corner for long enough and just might come out swinging. Revenues aren`t what they were and innovation`s had both legs in the grave for quite a while. No design upgrades on the iPhone combined with a lack of critical features already on Android have cost Apple dearly.

That being said, the iPhone 8 (or `X`) will not disappoint. Ever since late 2016, we`re hearing whispers that the tenth anniversary iPhone will be a spectacle to witness. Initial reports claimed a simple iPhone 8 as its title. These reports have continued well into H1 2017`s end. While conflicting rumors did surface, they failed to gain traction among multiple sources, which is a good sign when gauging credibility.

ow, famed tipster Evan Blass is back with more confirmation that the OLED iPhone will indeed be the iPhone 8. Recently, we`ve heard reports that Apple will dub the non-OLED variants as the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Then, driving a wedge straight through the flagship smartphone portfolio, the OLED device will be dubbed as the iPhone X. Evan`s leaks suggest otherwise, with two alleged images of case packages for the smartphone. These hint that it will indeed be referred to as the iPhone 8.

Of course, case makers often base their packages on initial product details so maybe Apple changed its mind either halfway through or at the very end. At this point, we`d advise you to stick with veteran Apple journalist, John Gruber`s estimations. According to him, the three smartphones will either be the iPhone, iPhone Plus and the iPhone Pro or they`ll be the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and the iPhone 8 Pro. Personally, I`d love the former`s simplistic approach. Thoughts? Let us know what you think in the comments section below and stay tuned. We`ll keep you updated on the latest.
